GARM-CC 2025

Green AI and Responsible Machine Learning for Connected Communities. Organized as part of the 25th International Conference on Next Generation Wired/Wireless Networks and Systems (NEW2AN 2025)Hybrid (In-person and Online Presentations)

Workshop Description

Artificial intelligence is increasingly integral to the design and deployment of smart city systems, public infrastructure, and next-generation networked environments. However, the rising environmental cost of training and deploying complex AI models—and the growing demand for ethical, transparent systems—necessitates new frameworks and methods to ensure AI remains sustainable and socially responsible.
This workshop explores the intersection of Green AI and Responsible Machine Learning in the context of connected communities and smart cities. It will address technical issues such as energy-efficient model design, edge deployment of AI, decentralized learning for data privacy, and lifecycle assessment of AI’s environmental footprint. It will also focus on transparency, fairness, and governance mechanisms to ensure AI aligns with ethical principles and public expectations.
The workshop will include peer-reviewed paper presentations and invited talks to promote research collaboration and highlight real-world applications. Accepted and presented papers will be published in Springer LNCS proceedings (indexed in Scopus, DBLP, Web of Science, and more).
